Source One Consulting carried out an office relocation and fit-out for our long-established client, AJN Steelstock.

The company was transitioning from their existing Southend office to a modern serviced office space. The new space featured an open ceiling with exposed HVAC and traywork, lending itself perfectly to an industrial aesthetic that complements the nature of their steelwork business.

Challenges & Solutions

One of the key challenges was constructing an internal, soundproof office without compromising the building’s infrastructure or detracting from its unique industrial character. To achieve this:

We built an internal office using double-skin soundboard, maximizing noise reduction with the highest possible dB rating.
A new suspended ceiling and integrated lighting system were installed to enhance functionality while blending seamlessly with the overall aesthetic.
Additional power and data points were installed, finished in galvanized steel conduit to maintain the industrial look.
A new boardroom was designed and furnished with modern furniture, complete with glass manifestation that aligned with the client’s branding.

Efficient Relocation & Installation

The move was meticulously planned and executed over two days, ensuring zero downtime to AJN Steelstock’s business operations. Full project management was provided, including:

Coordination of crate delivery and logistics.
Dismantling, transportation, and reassembly of furniture and equipment.
Installation of sound-absorbent desktop screens to counteract sound travel in the open ceiling environment.
