New Lecture Room Fit Out
North London Hospice appointed Source One Consulting to freshen up and modernise their Lecture Room.
When we first visited the Hospice, the room was tired with poor lighting and lots of sound transfer problems. The finished lecture room is a stunning multi-functional space with bi-fold doors and kitchen. Find out more details below.

Office design process
We worked with the North London Hospice team on a number of 2D and 3D drawings to show new lighting, décor and flooring options as part of the office design process. When we established the look, feel and budget agreed, we pushed forward completing the project completed in 4 weeks!
The large lecture room is perfectly symmetrical and so placing the large bi-fold doors in the centre meant that 2 good-sized training spaces can be created when the door is closed.
As the project progressed, we also carried out decoration and flooring works to the corridor that runs to Lecture Room and Staff Kitchen Area. There were also a few more doors that needed to be laminated, so we created a small workshop on site to laminate all additional doors in order to meet initial deadline.

Project scope
In a busy 4-week period Source One provided a wide range of services and projects including:
- Supply and fit new suspended ceiling inside recess on both sides of the room to reduce sound travel
- Supply and fit new air conditioning units to both sides of the room, located within suspended ceiling
- Full decoration to ceiling, walls, and woodwork throughout
- Removal of 1 radiator, ready for supply and fit of new kitchen worktop to the back of Lecture Room, complete with fridge for refreshments and water feed ready for future use
- Removal of all existing flooring, latex area and lay new LVT flooring throughout
- Removal of existing CAT2 spotlights and speakers, ready to supply and install new LED spotlights throughout. We also filled the holes where CAT2 lighting was removed as less LED lights were required, given their light output.
- Lamination of all doors to give them a white finish, as well as graphic wrapping of bi-fold doors to come away from oak and introduce a brighter space, matching in with all woodwork.
- Supply and install new flip top tables, conference seating with seating storage capabilities and Lectern for the front of the room.
