Call Centre Fit-Out in Norwich
A complete office refurbishment and fit-out for MTC’s new premises in St Georges Street, Norwich, delivered by Source One in just six weeks.
When MTC moved to new premises in Norwich, they appointed Source One to design, manage and deliver the refurbishment and fit-out of their new call centre.
The project involved much more than creating a new look for the workplace. A significant programme of electrical, data and communications work was required alongside new meeting spaces, furniture, kitchen facilities, lighting and air conditioning.
From initial design through to completion, Source One managed the entire project, delivering the new workplace in just six weeks.
19,000 metres of data and communications cabling
Behind the finished workplace was a substantial infrastructure project.
More than 19,000 metres of data and communications cabling was installed to support the call centre, with full termination to the communications room and data mapping throughout.
Desktop power modules provided staff with convenient access to power, data and USB charging, while Wi-Fi points and data connections for new TVs were incorporated into the fit-out.
It’s the sort of work that largely disappears from view once an office is complete, but it was fundamental to creating a workplace capable of supporting MTC’s day-to-day operations.
Creating a workplace for MTC
The existing reception walls were removed to create a more open and welcoming entrance to the office.
New partitions were then installed to create the boardroom, meeting rooms, print room and communications room, providing a combination of spaces for different activities across the workplace.
Source One also supplied and installed the office furniture, including:
- call centre desking
- reception furniture
- soft seating
- meeting furniture
- meeting booths
- screens
- storage and lockers
- bespoke built-in print room furniture
A new kitchen was installed with associated power, water supply and safety flooring, while the wider works included upgraded electrical distribution, new lighting and air conditioning for the boardroom and communications room.
From design to completion in six weeks
With so many elements involved, coordination and project management were an important part of the brief.
Source One managed the project from the initial design through to the completed fit-out, coordinating the different trades and installations required to get MTC’s new Norwich workplace ready for use.
Despite the scale of the project, the entire programme was completed in just six weeks.
“It was great working with you and your team. We get nothing but compliments from everyone in the organisation who visits the Norwich office. It really is the ‘jewel in the crown’.”

About MTC
MTC is a provider of justice services in the UK, developing and delivering programmes designed to support service users in reintegrating into society and helping to build safer communities.

What made this one work
Planning and coordination from start to finish.
With the fit-out, furniture, electrical installation and more than 19,000 metres of data and communications cabling all forming part of the same six-week programme, careful coordination was essential.
Source One managed the project from initial design through to completion, bringing the different elements together and keeping the programme moving.
A good example of what we do
More than the parts you see.
The finished office includes a welcoming reception, call centre workspace, boardroom, meeting rooms and breakout facilities, but much of the work that made it possible sits behind the finished space.
It’s a good example of Source One combining design, infrastructure, furniture and project management to deliver a complete workplace rather than simply individual elements of a fit-out.
