ideaSpace in Cambridge

ideaSpace, part of the University of Cambridge, is a community of people in Cambridge starting high impact new ventures.

The members are creating new business models which have the potential to benefit millions of people within a few years of start-up.

The creation of a shared working and meeting space gives both the members and employees of ideaSpace the benefit a stimulating working environment and the opportunity to share experiences with like-minded start-up founders and gain access to some of the UK’s most successful entrepreneurs and investors.

Completed in 5 weeks

Ideaspace, were relocating to new premises within the Cambridge University site – Laundress Lane which overlooks one of the most beautiful views Cambridge has to offer.

In just under 5 weeks, and working within timescales to minimise disruption to other occupiers of the building, Source One stripped out a floor of 2600 square feet that had not been in use for many years and created a timeless space that mirrors the ideaSpace brand through a clever use of colour, furniture and finishes.

The new office space has a modern look with meeting facilities to accommodate its growing business. The space now hosts new meeting rooms as well as breakout and lounge space and open plan offices.

Source One developed the office interior design working alongside Belinda Brown (Office Manager and PA to Director Stewart McTavish) and Stewart himself. Their involvement was an important part of the design process as their input ensured our solution was both functional, high quality and matched the wonderful exterior views from the building.

Lisa Lewis, Joint Managing Director of Source One project managed the development herself during the 5 weeks of works.
