New build fit out

Bacton Transport had occupied portacabins at their existing site for the best part of 15 years but were planning a move into a new build warehousing unit on Venture Road, Lawn Farm.

Although we have had the pleasure of working with them for many years – we installed furniture at their previous head office back in 2006- we were delighted that they approached us to work on this new furniture fit out.

Space planning to optimise layout

The initial focus of the project, much like a full CAT A or B fit out, was the office layout and space planning… getting a clear understanding of the needs of the various teams who were going to be using it and then maximising the use of space available to allow them to be successful.

Our design and space planning service performs an important role in ensuring that everything fits, provides sufficient space and creates a productive work environment.

Not only that, the 3D modelling also enables you to try different furniture configurations and finishes.

A splash of colour

The colours and finishes chosen by the Bacton Transport team reflected their corporate identity with white and light concrete colours alongside their signature Orange.

The orange added a splash of colour to the office on the screens/partitions and seat pads. A little bit of colour and fun was also added through the soft seating in the breakout spaces.

Creating distinct areas

We used storagewalls in a number of areas to break up some of the open space. This has a number of advantages in open plan spaces (apart from the obvious storage use), such as helping to create distinct spaces (either for team or meeting areas, reception etc) and for helping to break up office noise.

A real ‘wow’ moment

Office receptions are all about first impressions and so we were delighted with the creation of a bespoke, handmade trailer reception counter!

Brought to life with Bridgestone trailer tyres and with storage cunningly tucked away at the back, it really does make an unforgettable first impression.
