Charity, Inspire Suffolk, wanted to convert an old gymnasium into a studio ‘performance space’ and a classroom that could be used for a huge range of activities by both Inspire Suffolk and the wider community.

What the project involved…

This was an intricate project as it was important to keep the look and feel of a gym in the original space, while reducing the space and blending in a new classroom/training space. In particular, the addition of a jumbo wall had to be blended into look like it had always been there which required us to individually hand cut the areas under the steel rafters.

Overall the the project activities included:

Design and space planning
Creation of a ‘jumbo’ wall to divide the space
New windows and fire door
Outside ramp for DDA access
All electrical work: Power / Data / LED lighting & Heaters
Suspended ceiling
