A school musical storage conundrum for Source One

We do love a challenge and so what could be more fun than working out how best to store Westwood Primary Schools music instruments and equipment.

As most schools with music rooms will be familiar, finding a way to keep music equipment of odd shapes and sizes safe, sound and tidily packed away, is a real challenge.

And, while a large cupboard does enable it to be hidden from view it doesn’t necessarily mean that all the items are well protected… especially if things are thrown in quickly at the end of a lesson!

Old school approach

Our approach was a little old school… we got out the tape measure! After measuring up all the items we then created 2D drawings to find a home for everything in a bespoke storagewall… definitely one for the jigsaw lovers on the team.

Storagewall with hidden secrets

The 6-metre wide storagewall also included a false door to build in and hide a structural pillar that was located where the storagewall was to be placed.

Source One and Schools

We work with schools, sixth forms, colleges and universities of all sizes and on projects ranging from school lockers to refurbishment and fit out of classrooms, common rooms, staff rooms, libraries and receptions areas.
