CDW 2022: office design inspiration

As a leading office interiors specialist, Source One stay on top of all the latest office design and interiors trends. With this in mind, we packed Pat Lewis and Chloe Hector off to this years Clerkenwell Design Week, a festival of all that’s new and happening in the design world.

Here are a few things that caught our eye…

Pod-tastic

It was hard to escape the feeling that the return to offices has brought about a new focus on how to create more meeting spaces in open plans spaces.

Office pods were definitely to the fore. From stylish sofas with high sides creating privacy and reducing office noise, to larger walled office pods with digital connectivity, office design is looking to create the agile office working environment that we are all striving for.

Earthy textile colour palette

Notably, the favoured colour palettes were more natural, earthy tones. Less ‘shouty’ than the bright primary colours we have seen in the past, these subtle colours combined with quality textiles give a much more professional feel.

Bringing Mother Nature indoors

Maybe it is all the working from home that has inspired designers but we loved the renewed focus on getting more plants into the office.

In particular, we loved the wood planter (pictured above) that is also a great room divider that will help to reduce office noise.

Sustainability too

We were also inspired by so many suppliers making sustainability a focus on new products. It is long overdue and a really positive step forward, we look forward to building this into more of our office interiors.
