ALL4MND Charity Cycling Adventure

ALL4MND logoWe are delighted to be supporting the ALL4MND Charity Cycle Ride Adventure that is aiming to raise £400,000 for MND Charities; namely the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation and the 4ED Campaign.

Oliver Hall, of R W Hall Flooring, one of our brilliant suppliers, is leading a group of 40 novice cyclists on a mammoth ride from Ipswich Rugby Club to Melrose Rugby Club in the borders of Scotland – the home of Doddie Weir; Scotland and British Lions Rugby Player and MND Warrior.

That is over 400 miles in 4 (and a bit) days… which is quite the task for a group of, shall we say, ageing, overweight ex rugby players!

Oliver told us:

The training and event will certainly test our physical and no doubt our emotional limits. £400,000 is a huge figure, however one that we know is achievable if we can rally the Rugby World & Inspire Businesses to support our goal.

Pat & Lisa Lewis of Source One said:

We are proud to be supporting this brilliant event to raise money for a great cause… we are also quite pleased to be supporting from the sofa rather than on a bike cycling 400 miles! We wish the whole team the greatest success.

About ALL4MND

ALL4MND is a charity venture created by a group of Old Rugby Friends over a Christmas Lunch. We have been touched by the stories of Doddie Weir, Rob Burrow and Ed Slater, and their battles with Motor Neurone Disease.

These guys are legends of the Rugby World but more importantly they are Husbands, Fathers, Friends, and Teammates. Seeing Rob Burrow at a testimonial match holding his three children in his arms flanked by his best friends and teammates pulled all our heartstrings.

Kevin Sinfield has raised millions for MND charities; showing what can be achieved when Friendship and Love is your motivation. At Sports Personality of The Year Kevin Sinfield said that Rob Burrow ‘has inspired us all to be better friends.’

That sentiment has inspired us to take on an epic challenge. MND is a disease that could one day affect any one of us and if we can help the fight now, others will encounter MND on a much more level playing field. Doddie Weir said ‘MND is not incurable; it is underfunded’.
